CHECKLIST FOR SELLING YOUR HOME...

 

You can significantly influence the selling price of your home by preparing it and your property before putting it on the market!   Here are suggestions to improve a buyers first impressions of your home.  Review the checklist now and before photos are taken. Check to see what the camera will “see”. Look carefully at walls, floors and ceilings for needed painting or repair. Also check the trim around windows and doors.

 

 

 

CURB APPEAL - Property seen from the street:

 


q                   Healthy, weed-free, neatly cut, trimmed lawn

q                    Shrubs trimmed

q                    Trees trimmed to not touch the house

q                    Sealed black-top driveway

q                    Weed-free driveway, front walk, shrub areas

q                    Toys, garden tools, clutter removed from yard

 

HOUSE EXTERIOR - Front view from the street:

 

q                    Recently painted siding

q                    Painted or touch-up trim

q                    Repair, repaint fences or gates

q                    Clean, align gutters and down spouts

q                    Wash and align shutters

q                    Wash all windows, storm doors and screens

 

FRONT DOOR ENTRANCE AREA - Exterior:

 

q                    Clear interior entry area or foyer of all clutter

q                    Reduce volume in the front hall closet

q                    Clean and polish the front entry floor

q                    Wash and replace bulbs in all light fixtures

q                    Remove finger prints and scuff  marks on walls and trim

q       Wash or replace window coverings

q       Scrub tile, bleach and repair grout

q       Insure that all drawers and doors open easily

q       Clean medicine cabinet, wash inside and out

q       Seal around tubs and shower

q       Check for evidence of water and repair

q       Replace old toilet seats

q       Replace shower and window curtains

q       Buy a set of new color coordinated bath linens

 

LAUNDRY:

 


q       Check operation of appliances and clean them

q       Remove clothes and organize the area
